Song Of The Day 2/21/2013: Terry Allen - "Truckload Of Art"

Terry Allen is one of country music's smartest songwriters, raised in Lubbock, Texas, where my dad was born. This song has been a big favorite of mine for about twenty years, and unfortunately for my verbosity tic, there isn't much I can say about it without ruining its fun. So have fun.

By the way, Allen is a highly acclaimed visual artist and painter himself, which makes this song even more amusing. "Truckload" was also covered by Cracker and the Austin Lounge Lizards, to less direct effect. Snark away, you highfalutin East Coast upper crusters.
