Star Time #76: Soul Power
By all rights I should probably be playing James Brown far more than I do, seeing as how his emcee is responsible for the name of my show. To that end, the Summer Special this week focuses on his work, and the work of those who were in his immediate orbit: backup singers, band members, protégés, and a few guys from Cincinnati whose legacy with the Godfather I'm not quite clear on. (HTML note: There's nothing like the kind of long-ass song titles James Brown favored to break up your table rows.)
