Song Of The Day 5/1/2012: Lightning Seeds - "Pure"

It seems like half of what I do with Song Of The Day simply involves copping and pilfering from the playlists of WFMU shows that I listen to, but that must mean WFMU's been playing some pretty outstanding music lately. Or maybe I just don't want to work that hard. Either way, you get the goods. The Lightning Seeds (tip of the hat to Starwing) were never a band I knew much about nor got overwhelmingly drawn towards, but hearing this song on (again) Pseu's Thing With A Hook got through to me for some reason. Not sure why. I don't listen to the lyrics. I just like the beat. And the accent. Maybe you can explain it. Then you could write text like this. Whatever the case, I like this song a bunch.
