Song Of The Day 10/9/2012: John Lennon - "Serve Yourself"

For some reason John Lennon's birthday is one of the few rock star birthdays I remember instantaneously. He would have been 72 today. This song is a home recording John made in 1980, written in response to Bob Dylan's conversion to Christianity (and his song "Gotta Serve Somebody"). Actually, legend has it Lennon had several versions of "Serve Yourself," tackling various subjects. This is the most profane, so it's our winner. Hey John. Hope the service is good wherever you are.

That's quite a rant! And in an Irish accent, no less! "Bloody Woolworth's!"
