Song Of The Day 2/23/2013: Lambert, Hendricks & Ross - "Cloudburst"

Last weekend I gave you Leroy Van Dyke's "The Auctioneer," a magnum opus of rapid-fire singing (or rather, auctioneering). This weekend I thought I'd give you a comparable jazz vocal piece from Lambert, Hendricks & Ross, the "vocalese" trio who I love listening to when I have no other pressing matters. That's Jon Hendricks doing the heavy lifting in the solo portion. This piece was also memorably covered by Barry Manilow early in his career. Well, I remembered it, anyway. I wrote it down somewhere.
