Mixtape: Price of the Hook
This mix was at least partially motivated by the passing of Anthony Bourdain, who professed a deep love for the islands and countries of Southeast Asia, particularly Vietnam. Having heard some jaw-dropping rock music from Cambodia and Thailand in the past, I thought I'd make a fast-moving set of music from Indochina and the East Indies.
Thailand's heavily represented here. We also have tracks from Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, and Sumatra. There are also a couple of tracks from Myanmar (aka Burma) which are some of the most winsomely but pathologically insane music I've ever heard.
