Star Time #158: I Stopped the Duke of Earl
For the next few weeks I'll be running episodes with R&B songs from very tight time frames—for example, this week it's 1958 through 1963—in chronological order. This strategy suits my somewhat relaxed manufacturing mindset of the moment. The songs are splendid. Also, as implied, I play a song about stopping the Duke of Earl, even though I've never played the original "Duke of Earl" on Star Time. I imagine he's pretty ticked off about that, thereby validating the decision to stop him.
