Song Of The Day 10/27/2013: Rev. Fred Lane & His Hittite Hot Shots - "The French Toast Man"

Halloween Week: This is from the Rev. Fred Lane from Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Lane was the musical alter-ego of sculptor T.R. Reed. He made two albums, one in 1975 and the other in 1986. Both eventually found release through Shimmy Disc Records. I don't think much critical analysis is necessary on any of Rev. Lane's accomplishments. You just have to sit and bathe in them, like a Jacuzzi filled with soft, melted, colorful and pleasant lukewarm vinyl by-products. "French Toast Man" may not sound like a typical Halloween track, but it does feature an exploding liver and advice to "evacuate your bowels, have a hot lunch and don't be late for school." Where'm I gonna put it, Easter week?
