Song Of The Day 12/17/2013: Arcade Fire - "A Very Arcade Xmas"

Holiday Barrage 2013: This recording by Grammy-gulping Canadian art-rockers Arcade Fire is a drunken, shambolic howl that simulates the action contained in a real holiday song. It trudges along for eight minutes and parodies everything that Arcade Fire were liable to do in succeeding years. It's also reminiscent of the kinds of recording Rick Weston and I made under the name L. Ron Shrubbery, except we did it for three years straight between 1989 and 1992. This is for all the other godless heathens trying to get Festivus poles displayed near nativity scenes this season. You're free to cut out of this song before it goes the full eight minutes, by the way. No pop quiz this time.
