Song Of The Day 12/18/2013: Darlene Love - "Christmastime For the Jews"

Holiday Barrage 2013: Here's one of my favorite Saturday Night Live songs of recent vintage, from the 2005 Christmas episode. "Christmastime For the Jews" was written by certified Jewish summer camp attendee Robert Smigel, whose inserted fist also gave the world Triumph The Insult Comic Dog. Darlene Love, who had a hit with the Spectory "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)," was recruited to sing about getting to go to Chinese restaurants to have "that sweet-ass wine." (I think that's what the lyric is. I hope it is.) I'll just step aside now and let you bathe in the sweet-ass black-and-white Claymation.
