Song Of The Day 12/24/2013: The Smothers Brothers - "Swiss Christmas"

Holiday Barrage 2013: Another nugget from the first comedy album I ever heard, the Smothers Brothers' Curb Your Tongue, Knave! I've tried to find verification on the web that the Swiss celebration described in this song still exists in modern-day Switzerland, and I'm sure it does, but I couldn't find one in the detail described by Dick & Tommy here. That just shows you how seamlessly the Smothers worked actual cultural anthropology into their act. At any rate, you parents out there who are hoping to provide a little Christmas miracle for your young'uns should feel free to load up on the Schnapps and festoon that pine tree tonight.
